Keep a claim organized in Cardinal Claims

A practical path for operations and claims staff collecting the history of a cargo incident in one place.

Cardinal Claims has detailed in-product help.

Claims customers can read the public self-service Help Center for product guidance. The Claims app owns detailed instructions and member workflows.

BEFORE YOU START

Have these ready.

  • You have permission to work with the relevant claim.
  • You have the shipment reference, incident summary, dates, and available supporting evidence.
STEP BY STEP

Work through the basics.

  1. Open the right claim

Use the Claims member link below. Find the existing record first, or follow your team’s process to create one when the incident is new.

  2. Write down what happened

Capture the basic facts: when the incident was reported, what is affected, and which shipment or parties are involved. Separate known facts from open questions.

  3. Bring the evidence together

Associate photos, POD, correspondence, and other documents with the claim they support. Review sensitive information before sharing it.

  4. Track the follow-up

Keep communications, status changes, owners, and next actions current so another teammate can understand the history.

  5. Share only with permission

Check who is authorized to view a claim or update before you share a link or status with a partner.

In a real workday

A customer asks for an update after a delivery shortage: find the claim, review the latest evidence and notes, then share only the status your team has approved.

IF SOMETHING IS OFF

Check this first.

  • Cannot see the claim? Ask your account administrator about role and organization access.
  • A document is missing? Confirm that it was added to this claim and that your role can view it.
